About Valerie Hemhauser
Valerie Hemhauser has 30 years of litigation experience focusing on divorce and family law matters. Valerie earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey and served as a student law clerk for the Appellate Division of the State of New Jersey under the Hon. Thomas F. Shebell, J.A.D. Licensed to practice law since 1990, Valerie Hemhauser founded and was the managing partner of the first all woman general law firm in Monmouth County, formally known as Hall Hemhauser. Currently, she is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Division and the Monmouth County Bar Association where she serves on multiple committees. She also serves as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist for the Monmouth County Superior Court Family Division and has been asked to serve as an Intensive Settlement Panelist and as a Blue Ribbon Panelist on multiple occasions. Valerie was appointed to and served a four year term as a member of and as investigator for the District IX Ethics Committee for Monmouth County and, has been asked to speak at continuing legal education classes on the issue of professionalism and the law. In 2016 she was elected to be the Executive Director of the Legal Aid Society of the Monmouth Bar Association, a part time position she thoroughly enjoys in addition to practicing law. Ms. Hemhauser currently devotes the majority of her practice to family law matters including divorce, support, custody, parenting issues, post judgment enforcement and modification applications and pre marital and marital propety settlement agreements. She also handles municipal court matters and prepares simple estate planning for her clients. When Valerie is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, painting, travelling and hiking.
